The United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) mentioned that it will begin to accept applications for the EB-5 Immigrant Investor Program beginning Oct. 15, 2020. USCIS facilitates processing about 500,000 immigrant visa petitions per month during the initial phase of the program. This number could increase over time as demand increases and more funding becomes available.

EB-5 visas are granted to foreign nationals who invest $500,000 in a commercial enterprise located within the United States. These investments must generate at least 10 full-time jobs for American workers. Investors receive conditional permanent permit status based on the amount put up and the job creation generated.

Similarly, to qualify for the EB-5 visa, those apply must prove that they have enough funds to pay back the investment plus  20 percent interest. If granted, they can remain in the U.S. forever.
